أنا واع بحقيقة أن هذه القصائد هي لآليء من شعر الحب العالمي. نحن نشعر بنوع جديد من الحب فيها، ونسمع موسيقى جديدة لمشاعر العشق. ربما كان كاييرو أحيانا غير مخلص لمبادئه؛ ولكن لا يمكن أن يكون سوى أصيل. قصائد العشق هاته فريدة في تاريخ شعر الحب. أنا أدرك هذه الحقيقة بدون إعجاب، لأنني أحتفظ بكل الإعجاب في مكان عال وعزيز. حالة الحب الأصيل، رغم كونها طبيعية، تكون بالكاد حالة مناسبة لوضع المشاعر فيما نسميه فنا. هناك يجلس فنانون نادرون يحاولون دائما الحفاظ على أنفسهم وذكاءهم يلجم مشاعرهم، ولكن نفس الفنانين لا يضعون مشاعرهم الجنسية في الأبياات وفقا لنسق أو آخر.
