About the Author: Amin Maalouf is a Lebanese writer and journalist, born in Beirut on February 25, 1949 AD. After graduating, he worked as a journalist, working in the economic supplement of the Beirut newspaper An-Nahar. In 1976, he moved to France, where he worked for the economic magazine Economia, and continued his journalistic work, heading the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Africa Al-Fata” or “Jeanne Afrique”, as well as continuing to work with the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar and its stepson called Al-Nahar Al-Arabi and Al-Dawli. He published his first work, The Crusades as Seen by the Arabs, in 1983 by Lattis Publishing House, which became the publishing house specialized in his works. His works have been translated into many languages ​​and he won several French literary prizes, including the Franco-Arab Friendship Prize in 1986 AD for his novel The African Lyon, and he won the Goncourt Prize, the major French literary prize, in 1993 for his novel The Rock of Tanios. Dr. Afif Demashkieh has translated most of his works into Arabic – as Maalouf writes all his works in French – and it is published by Dar Al-Farabi in Beirut. من الكتاب: …. كانت بلاد الخلافة العباسية أغنى وأقوى دولة في الأردض,وكانت عاصمتها أقوى مركز الحضارات. ففيها ألف طبيب مجاز ,ومستشفى كبير مجاني,ومصلحة بريد منتظم,وعدة مصارف لبعض فروعها في الصين,وشبكة مياه ممتازة,وأخرى متصلحة بمنتفعات المنازل لتصريف مياه الخدمة ,ومصنع للورق- ولسوف يتعلم الغربيون الذين لم يكن يستعملون غير الرق للكتابة قبل دخولهم بلاد الشام,سوف يتعلمون فن صناعة الورق من تبن القمح. عن الكتاب: ينطلق هذا الكتاب من فكرة بسيطة: سرد قصة الحروب الصليبية كما نظر إليها وعاشها ورويت تفاصيلها في “المعسكر الآخر”، أي في الججانب العربي، ويعتمد محتواه بشكل حصري تقريباً على شهادات المؤرخين والإخبارين العرب في تلك الحقبة. ولا يتحدث هؤلاء عن حروب صليبية بل عن حروب أو غزوات إفرنجية. وقد كتبت الكلمة التي تدل على الإفرنج بأشكال مختلفة باختلاف المناطق والمؤلفين والأزمنة: فرنج، فرنجة، إفرنج، إفرنجة… وقد اختير الشكل الذي لا يزال مستخدماً حتى اليوم في المحكية الشعبية لتسمية “الغربيين” وبصورة أخص “الفرنسيين” “فرنج”. وهدف المؤلف من وراء هذا الكتاب، ليس تقديم كتاب تاريخ ولكن تقديم كتاب يوضح وجهة نظر أهملت حتى الآن، “رواية حقيقية” عن الحروب الصليبية وعن هذين القرنين المضطربين اللذين صنعا الغرب والعالم العربي ولا يزالان يحددان حتى اليوم علاقتهما.

Head of the Higher Committee for Syrian Students in the thirties for three years. This student committee was the executive committee of the national bloc that was fighting the French colonization of Syria. He was a writer who wrote in many Arab newspapers for many years, the most important of which was what he wrote in the Egyptian Al-Resala magazine for its owner Ahmed Hassan Al-Zayat. He continued to write in it for twenty years from 1933 AD until the year 1953 was obscured. Since his youth, he worked in primary and secondary education in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon until the year 1940. He left education and entered the judiciary, where he spent twenty-five years as a judge in Al-Nabek and then in Douma, then moved to Damascus and became the excellent judge there (1943 – 1953 AD), and was transferred as an advisor to the Court of Cassation in the Levant, then as an advisor to the Court of Cassation in Cairo during the days of unity with Egypt. He was commissioned to draft a complete personal status law in 1947 AD and was dispatched to Egypt for a year to study new draft laws for inheritance, wills, and others. The entire draft personal status law was prepared and this draft became the basis for the current law.

وهذه قصصٌ من الحياة، سماها مؤلفها كذلك لأن الحياة ألّفتها. وهل تؤلف الحياة قصصاً؟ نعم (كما يقول في المقدمة): “إن الحياة تؤلف قصصاً يعجز أبرع أهل الفن عن توهُّم مثلها، ولكنها لا تذيع “مؤلفاتها” ولا تعلن عنها، فتبقى “مخطوطة” مخبوءة لا يصل إليها ولا يقرؤها إلا رجل حديد البصر، طويل اليد، ذو جَلَدٍ على البحث وصبرٍ على التنقيب. ولست ذلك الرجل، ولا أنا من عشّاق المخطوطات وروّاد المباحث، ولكن الأيام ألقت هذه القصة في طريقي فوجدتها مطويَّةً في سجلات محكمة من المحاكم، مقطَّعةَ الأوصال، مفرَّقةَ الأجزاء، فألصقتُ أوصالها وجمعتُ أجزاءها، ونشررتها في “الرسالة” وما لي فيها إلا الرواية”.ومما يلاحَظ في هذه الأقاصيص أن أكثرها قصير؛ فهي لا تكاد تتجاوز الصفحات العشر طولاً، وكثير منها في حدود الخمس أو الست الصفحات، باستثناء واحدة تُجاوز الثلاثين. هذا من حيث الشكل، أما من حيث المحتوى فيجمع أكثرَها أنها تعالج مشكلات اجتماعية أو أخلاقية. ففي أول قصص الكتاب، “اليتيمان”، تصوير مؤثر لواحدة من المشكلات المنتشرة بين الناس: الزوجة الثانية التي تظلم أبناء زوجها -من زوجته السابقة- وتنسى أن في الكون عدلاً وبعد الموت حساباً وفي الآخرة جنة للمحسنين وناراً للظالمين. وفي قصة “الكأس الأولى” نتعرف إلى عبد المؤمن أفندي، وهو شرطي بسيط يعمل في مخفر في قرية صغيرة قرب الشام، راتبه الشهري مئة ليرة لا تكاد تكفيه وأسرتَه الصغيرة لضرورات الحياة، فضلاً عن كمالياتها. ثم تأتيه الفرصة ليحصل على راتب مئة شهر في ضربة واحدة، ولكنها كسب محرم وهو لم يمدَّ إلى الحرام يداً طَوال أربعين عاماً، فماذا سيفعل الآن؟وفي: “طبق الأصل” و”من صميم الحياة” و”في حديقة الأزبكية” دعوة ظاهرة إلى الفضيلة وتحذير من أسباب الرذيلة والفاحشة يبلغ أوجَهُ في قصة “الخادمة”: “هكذا كان يفكر الأبوان المحترمان. وضُربا بالعمى عن حقيقةٍ لا تخفى على عاقل؛ هي أن الرجل والمرأة حيثما التقيا وكيفما اجتمعا: معلماً وتلميذة، وطبيباً وممرضة، ومديراً وسكرتيرة، وشيخاً ومريدة، فإنهما يبقيان رجلاً وامرأة”! أما “قصة أب” فجرس إنذار يقرعه علي الطنطاوي عالياً يكاد يصمّ الآذان تنبيهاً لمن يدلّل أولاده -من الآباء والأمهات- دلالاً يجاوز الحد فيقود إلى أسوأ العواقب في الدنيا والآخرة.وفي الكتاب “لوحات” اجتماعية تاريخية هي أقرب إلى التراث الشعبي فيما تقدمه من أوصاف وصور، منها “في شارع ناظم باشا” و”نهاية الشيخ” و”العجوزان”. وفيه قصة من الأدب الرمزي هي “قصة بردى” التي تحكي سيرة حياة النهر بأسلوب روائي رمزي كما تُحكى سيرة رجل من الناس.وأخيراً، ففي الكتاب قصتان من الأدب الوطني الصارخ الذي يستنهض الهمم وينفخ الحياة في الأموات: “جبل النار” و”بنات العرب في إسرائيل”. وهذه الأخيرة كان يمكن أن تكون صرخةَ “وامعتصماه” جديدةً لو كان في الأمة رجال يسمعون، ولكنها صرخةٌ ضاعت في واد مقفر وصيحةٌ تلاشت في أرضٍ فضاء: “قالت: وجعلتُ أعدو حافية -وقد سقط الحذاء من رجلي- على التراب والشوك حتى لحقوا بي… لقد أراقت دم عفافها لأن رجال قومها لم يريقوا دماء أجسادهم دفاعاً عن الأرض والعرض”!إنها قصص من الحياة. ولأنها كذلك، ولأنها تسعى إلى تقويم ما في الحياة من عيوب وعلاج ما فيها من أمراض، فقد اضطر مؤلفها أن يصف العيب أو يجهر بتشخيص “المرض” في بعض المواقف، وهو أمرٌ ساءه فاعتذر منه في مقدمة الطبعة الأولى من الكتاب، وفيها يخبرنا أنه تردد طويلاً قبل أن يأذن بنشر هذه القصص، ثم علّل دافعه إلى نشرها في مقدمة الطبعة الأخيرة التي جاء فيها: “مَن نظر في المرآة فرأى وجهه مصفرّاً ولونه حائلاً فلا يَلُم المرآة على اصفرار وجهه وتحوّل حاله. والأديب مرآة الأمة ولسانها الذي يبدي المكنون في أفئدة أهلها، ولكل أمة مزايا وعيوب، فمَن نبّه إلى عيبٍ فيها استحق الشكر لا العتب والغضب”.

وقد حدثنا المؤلف في مقدمة الكتاب عن أسلوبه في كتابة هذه القصص فقال: “لم تُكتب هذه الفصول في يوم واحد، بل كُتبت في أزمان متباعدات؛ لذلك كان ما ترون من الاختلاف بين أساليبها. وفي بعضها أثرٌ مِن أساليب مَن كنت مولعاً بهم يومئذ؛ ففي قصص الحجاج (هجرة معلم، وليلة الوداع، ويوم اللقاء) أثر من أسلوب معروف الأرناؤوط، وفي قصة “عالم” أثر من أسلوب الرافعي، وسائرها مكتوب بأسلوبي”. ثم يتحدث عن منهجه في هذه القصص: “ولم أتعمد أن أجعلها قصصاً كما جاء في عنوان الكتاب، ولم أتقيّد بقيود القصة وأقفْ عند حدودها، بل كنت آخذ الخبر أقعُ عليه فأديره في ذههني وأتصوّر تفاصيله، ثم أحاول أن أعرضه موسعاً واضحاً، فكان ما أجيء به يقترب من القصة حيناً، ويكون أشبه بالعرض (الريبورتاج) حيناً. وربما غلبت عليّ الرغبة بالتحليل النفسي فأطيل، وربما وقفت عند الحقائق فأقصر. ولو رجعتم إلى أصول هذه الفصول في التاريخ لوجدتم أن أكثرها لا يجاوز بضعة أسطر جاءت متوارية في حاشية من الحواشي أو زاوية من الزوايا، لا يتنبه إليها القارئ ولا يقف عليها”. أما القصص التي حواها الكتاب فهي ثلاث وعشرون قصة، ولقد كُتبت بأسلوب بثّ فيها الحياة حتى ليستدرّ -أحياناً- الدمع من عين قارئها، وحتى ليخال المرء أنه واحد من أبطالها وشخصياتها، يروح معهم ويجيء، ويأْلم معهم ويفرح، بل ليكاد يحيا معهم ويموت! وهي منتقاة من أزمنة متباينة تمتد ما بين أيام الجاهلية وحتى القرن الماضي؛ ففيها قصص من العصر الجاهلي (النابغة الذبياني)، ومن الطائف في آخر أيام الجاهلية وأول أيام الإسلام (ابن الحب)، ومن الحجاز في أول العصر الأموي (ثلاثون ألف دينار، وعلى أبواب المدينة، وليلة الوداع، ويوم اللقاء)، ومن سمرقند أيام الفتوح الأولى (قضية سمرقند)، ومن الشام في آخر أيام بني أمية فيها (سيدة من بني أمية)، ثم منها في القرن الثامن (في صحن الأموي)، ومن مكة في وسط القرن الثالث (حكاية الهميان)، ومن بغداد في أيام المأمون (وديعة الله)، ومن فلسطين في أيام صلاح الدين (في بيت المقدس، وهيلانة ولويس)، ومن الأندلس في آخر القرن الخامس (عشية وضحاها)، ثم منها في ساعات الوداع قبيل سقوط غرناطة بيد النصارى في آخر القرن التاسع (آخر أبطال غرناطة)، ثم منها بعد السقوط (محمد الصغير)، وأخيراً ها هي ذي قصة “عالِم” من دمشق في عام 1831. وفي الكتاب مشهد مسرحي واحد عنوانه “أبو جهل”.

About the Author: Egyptian Islamic writer. He was born in the village of Shershaba, affiliated to Zefta Center, Gharbia Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt. His birth was in the month of Muharram 1350 AH, on the first day of June 1931 AD. For four years, he remained there until the age of seven, when he memorized most parts of the Qur’an. After completing his secondary studies, he joined the Qasr Al-Ainy College of Medicine, where he graduated in 1960. He traveled to the United Arab Emirates in 1968 and worked there as a doctor, then as director of health culture, and then returned to his homeland (Tanta); To fight a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer, which did not last more than six months, after which he met his Lord one day after the blessed Eid al-Fitr, in Shawwal 1415 AH – March 1995 AD. The novels of his first prose work in prison in 1956 AD, inaugurated by the novel The Long Way, which won the award of the Ministry of Education in 1957 AD and then decided to teach secondary school students in the second grade of secondary in 1959 AD. The Promised Day novel, 1960, which won the award of the Supreme Council for the Protection of Arts and Letters in Egypt in the same year, a novel in the dark that won the same award in the following year 1961 AD, Hamza’s killer novel, The Light of God, Night and Rods of Men and Wolves, the story of Jadallah, The Processions of the Free, Omar appears in Jerusalem. Turkestan nights. Northern giants. Mountain Princess. The late writer Najib Al-Kilani was able to present an image of the desired Islamic literature, and proved that it is closely related to the reality of life, stands tall in the face of other literatures, and responds scientifically to trivial creations, through a serious life that was full of literary bids, as the scholar “Abu Al-Hassan Al-Nadawi” said. He is known to be the only writer who came out with the novel outside the borders of his country, and toured it and many other countries, interacting with their different environments. “On the Walls of Damascus”, in Palestine “Omar appears in Jerusalem”, Indonesia in “The Virgin of Jakarta”, and Turkestan in “Turkistan Nights”, in which he predicted the fall of communism more than thirty years ago. And the writer, in general, if he does not have that ability to foresee and predict next to the artistic vision, then there is no good in many of his works. Al-Kilani, may God have mercy on him, was able to employ many of the mechanisms of narrative art in his poetry, so he used symbol, mask, dialogue, narration, successive expression, flashback (remembering the past and going back) and paradox, and clips cut through the unique expressive forms and contents, as seen by Dr. . Jaber Qameha, the first of his collections of “Nahwa Al-Ula” in 1950, when he was a high school student, the last of which was “The Pearl of the Gulf”, which is the unfinished diwan, passing through “How to Meet You”, “The Age of Martyrs”, “Songs of Strangers” and “City of Major Sins”, and ” Migrant” and “Songs of the Long Night”. He published his first poetry collection in the fourth year of high school, under the title: Towards Al-Ula, and then published it.
