Author: Ayman Zuhri

About the Author: He is an Egyptian writer, born in 1964 AD in Sohag in Upper Egypt. He is a writer and researcher specializing in migration and population studies. He has eight books published in Arabic, which are “The Book of the Conditions of Egyptian Society”, which is a collection of articles describing the conditions of Egypt at the beginning of the twentieth century, and he has another book called “The Danish Experience”, which is a book in travel literature about His personal experience in Denmark, and the third book is a novel entitled “Bahr al-Rum”, which tells about the problem of illegal immigration, and his last book, “My Three Pounds: Communication and Society in Egypt” is about the impact of communications on Egyptian society, and the fifth book is called “Facebooks” and it is a collection of Articles, and the sixth book is a novel called “Raj’ al-Sada,” the seventh book of satirical literature, “Takhayef,” and the last book is “Playing Children,” which is the author’s autobiography. He also has many books in English and published in specialized scientific journals outside Egypt. Dr. Zuhri holds a Ph.D. in Migration Studies from the University of Sussex in England and worked as a researcher, expert, consultant and university professor at the American University in Cairo, the American University in Beirut, the Danish Institute for International Studies, the European Union, the United Nations, the National Population Council in Egypt, the Demographic Center in Egypt, the League of Arab States and The National Council for Human Rights in Egypt. He is the founder and president of the Egyptian Association for Migration Studies. Dr. Zohri has published many research papers and articles related to population and migration studies in many international scientific journals and participated in many national, regional and international conferences and symposiums related to his research interests. He has also published many articles in the Egyptian and Arab press. Dr. Zohri is an active member of many scientific societies related to his fields of interest, including, for example, the Egyptian Geographical Society, the Egyptian Demographic Society, the International Consortium for the Scientific Study of Population, the International Society for the Study of Forced Migration and the European Society for Population Studies.

إعتاد الناس في مصر أن يكتب السيرة الذاتية السياسيون والأدباء والكتاب والفنانون والعلماء والمفكرون. ربما رسّخ هذا المفهوم كلاسيكيات السيرة الذاتية التي تربينا عليها من أمثال الأيام للدكتور طه حسين وحياتي للأستاذ أحمد أمين والبحث عن الذات للرئيس الراحل محمد أنور السادات، والحديث منها مثل كتاب ماذا علمتني الحياة للدكتور جلال أمين. وعلى الرغم مما تمثله السيرة الذاتية من تسجيلٍ لمناحي الحياة من خلال المسيرة الشخصية لكاتبها، والتي تمثل بدورها جزء من إيقاع الحياة وشهادات حية لكتابها حول الحياة الإجتماعية والأدبية والفنية والإقتصادية والسياسية التي عاصروها وأثروا وتأثروا بها، إلا أن الإنتاج المصري في هذا المجال يعد قليلاً مقارنا بزخم الحياة الإجتماعية والإقتصادة والسياسية والفكرية لبلد بحجم مصر. وربما تعزى قلة الإنتاج في هذا المجال المعرفي في الحالة المصرية لسببين رئيسيين، السبب الأول هو النظر للسيرة الذاتية على أنها نوع من الحديث عن النفس المنهى عنه في الثقافة المصرية بإعتباره نوع من الأنوية والتفاخر بالذات أو ربما، في بعض الأحيان، نوع من فضح الذات. السبب الثاني هو الاعتقد السائد بأن السيرة الذاتية يجب أن تكتب قبل أن يبلغ العمر منتهاه وهو السبب الذي ربما يؤدي الي تأجيل الراغبين في كتابة سيرهم الذاتية الى أن يقضي الله أمراً كان معلوما، وبذلك تفقد الأمة توثيق تلك التجارب. على الرغم من أنني لا أنتمي الى كافة الطوائف المذكورة آنفا بإعتباري باحث أكاديمي وتطبيقي مجتهد، إلا أن ما عايشته على مدى القرون الخمسة السابقة قد يسمح لي أن أسطر بعضه في هذا الكتاب. على الرغم أن السيرة الذاتية عادة تعد ككشف حساب لعمر مديد، إلا أن هذا الكتاب يقتصر على فترة الطفولة التي قضيتها في إحدي القرى النائية في صعيد مصر بالإضافة الى بضع سنوات قضيتها، مع الأسرة بالخارج. كنت قد نشرت غالبية ما بين دفتي هذا الكتاب في شكل رواية صدرت لي عام 2015، وعلي الرغم من أن الشكل الروائي يعد من أرقى أنواع كتابة السيرة الذاتية، إلا أنني قد وجدت أن الكتابة بالشكل التقليدي السردي لتلك المرحلة من عمري ربما يسمح لي، بصورة أكبر، في التواصل المباشر مع القارئ. حياتي في القرية المصرية ربما تماثل أو ربما تتطابق مع حيوات العديد من أبناء جيلي، لذلك فإن كتابتي لسيرتي الذاتية لا تهدف بشكل مباشر الى توثيق تجربتي الشخصية، بقدر ما تهدف الى توثيق تجربة جيلي، كما أنها تهدف بالأساس الي تصوير أوضاع القرية المصرية – الصعيدية – في ستينات وسبعينات القرن العشرين. لا أخفيكم سراً أنني تأثرت كثيرا بكتاب الأيام للدكتور طه حسين الذي قرأته عدة مرات في كافة مراحل حياتي حتى أنني زرفت الدمع تأثراً بمعاناة هذا الرجل وصموده في مواجهة تقلبات الحياة.
