About the Author: François-Marie Arouet (21 November 1694 – 30 May 1778) was a French Enlightenment writer, historian, and philosopher. Known by his nom de plume Voltaire, he was famous for his wit, and his criticism of Christianity—especially the Roman Catholic Church—and of slavery. Voltaire was an advocate of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and separation of church and state.
About the Author: Voltaire was a versatile and prolific writer, producing works in almost every literary form, including plays, poems, novels, essays, histories, and scientific expositions. He wrote more than 20,000 letters and 2,000 books and pamphlets.Voltaire was one of the first authors to become renowned and commercially successful internationally. He was an outspoken advocate of civil liberties and was at constant risk from the strict censorship laws of the Catholic French monarchy. His polemics witheringly satirized intolerance, religious dogma, and the French institutions of his day. His best-known work and magnum opus, Candide, is a novella which comments on, criticizes, and ridicules many events, thinkers, and philosophies of his time.
مِنَ الفِكْرِ مَا كُلَّمَا حارَبْتَهُ قَوِيَ وازْدادَ رَوَاجًا، وهَكَذا كانَ الحالُ في أَوَائلِ القَرْنِ الثامِنَ عَشَر، حِينَ ضَيَّقتِ السُّلُطاتُ الفَرَنْسِيَّةُ الخِنَاقَ عَلَى «فولتير» وتَعَرَّضتْ لكِتابِهِ «الرَّسَائِل الفَلْسَفيَّة» بالحَجْبِ والحَرْق. هَذَا الكِتَابُ الَّذِي اعتُبِرَ في فَرَنْسَا آنَذَاكَ مُخالِفًا للدِّينِ ومُحَرِّضًا عَلَى الإِلْحادِ ومُقوِّضًا للنِّظامِ الاجْتِماعِي، كَتَبَهُ فولتير إبَّانَ إِقامتِهِ في مَهْجَرِهِ بإِنْجِلترا، مَدْفوعًا بمُلاحَظتِهِ للبَوْنِ الشاسِعِ بَيْنَ المُجْتَمَعَيْنِ الإِنْجِليزيِّ والفَرَنْسِيِّ عَلى أَكْثرَ مِن صَعِيد. وهَكَذا تَأتِي هَذِه الرَّسائِلُ التَّنْوِيرِيَّةُ مُحَمَّلةً بمُقارَناتٍ تَختَصُّ بالنِّظامِ الحُكُومِيِّ والبَرْلَمانِي، والحَياةِ الكَنَسِيَّةِ والكَهَنُوتِيَّة، وكَذلِكَ الجَوانِبُ العِلْميَّةُ والأَكَادِيميَّةُ وما يَتعلَّقُ بِنَسَقِ رِعايةِ الفُنُونِ والآدَابِ في كُلٍّ مِنَ البَلَدَيْن. وَيَتَوَجَّهُ فولتير في أَكْثَرِ الرَّسائِلِ إِثارَةً إلَى امْتِداحِ أَعْلامٍ إِنْجِليزٍ ﮐ «نيوتن»، وتَجَارِبَ إِنْجِليزيَّةٍ كَجَمَاعَةِ «الكويكرز»، وذلِكَ عَلَى حِسابِ الطَّعْنِ في شَخصِيَّاتٍ فَرَنْسِيةٍ ﮐ «ديكارت» واللَّاهُوتيِّ «بليز باسكال».

«الكُلُّ يَصدُرُ عَنِ الواحِد، كَما أنَّ الواحِدَ يَصدُرُ عَنِ الكُل. كِلاهُما مُرتَبطٌ في تَجانُسٍ وانسِجامٍ مُتَبادَل، وكِلاهُما متَّفِقٌ ومُختلِفٌ في آنٍ واحِد … ولَن نَتبيَّنَ العَلاقَةَ بَينَهُما حتَّى نَفهَمَهُما فَهمًا ديالكْتِيكيًّا؛ أَعنِي في إِطارِ عَلاقَةِ التوتُّرِ القائِمةِ بَينَهُما.» يُقدِّمُ لَنا «عبد الغفار مكاوي» فِي هَذا الكِتاب قَبَسًا يَهتَدِي القارِئُ بنُورِه في ظُلُماتِ الطَّريقِ بَحثًا عَنِ الحِكمَة؛ ويضَعُ الفَلسَفَةَ فِي إِطارِها التَّارِيخيِّ مِن خِلالِ عَرضِ المُشكِلاتِ والأَسئلَةِ الَّتِي وقَفَتْ كَعَثراتٍ في عَصرِها، فانبَرَى الفَلاسِفَةُ كُلٌّ مِنهُم يُجِيبُ عَنها بمَنطِقِهِ الخاصِّ ويَصُوغُها بأُسلُوبِهِ لتُعبِّرَ كلُّ إِجابَةٍ عَن عَصرِها. غيرَ أنَّ العَرضَ التَّاريخيَّ للفَلسَفةِ لا يَصلُ بقارئِهِ إلى مَصافِّ الفَلاسِفَة؛ فالفَلسفةُ ليسَتْ مجرَّدَ إِجاباتٍ تُحفَظ؛ لذا إنْ أرَدتَ أَن تَتَفلسَفَ فَعلَيكَ خَوضُ تِلكَ التَّجرِبةِ الذاتِيَّةِ بنَفسِك. وقَدِ ارتَحَلَ بِنا المُؤلِّفُ إِلى «اليونان» مَنبَعِ الفَلسَفَة، وتَجوَّلَ في فِكرِ «بارمينيدز» و«هيراقليطيس» و«سقراط» و«أفلاطون» و«أفلوطين»، ومِنَ العُصورِ الوُسطَى انتقَى «بوئتيوس»، ومِنَ العَصرِ الحَديثِ «باسكال» و«نيتشه» و«هيدجر» و«ألبير كامي».

نسألُ الآنَ: لِمَ الفلسفة؟ والسؤالُ يتعلَّقُ بهدفِ الفلسفةِ أو غايتِها. ولمَّا كانتْ فِعلًا إنسانيًّا يختصُّ بهِ البشرُ دونَ غيرِهم منَ الكائنات، فلا بدَّ أنْ ينصَبَّ على دورِها أو «وظيفتِها» في المُجتمع.» يقدِّمُ لنا الدكتور «عبد الغفار مكاوي» واحدًا منْ تلكَ المُؤلَّفاتِ التي تَتركُ قارِئَها في نهايةِ الرحلةِ وقدْ أحاطتْ به التساؤلاتُ والأُحجياتُ التي ليسَ منَ الضروريِّ أنْ يكونَ لها إجابات، بل ربَّما حلُّها يكونُ في المزيدِ منَ الأسئلةِ والبحثِ غيرِ المحدود. فلمْ يهدفِ المؤلِّفُ أنْ يقدِّمَ مَدْخلًا إلى الفلسفةِ وتعريفِها ووظيفتِها كتلكَ التي تَملأُ المَكتبات، بل أرادَ أنْ يُهيِّئَ القارئَ لطرْقِ أبوابِ الفلسفاتِ المختلفةِ والدخولِ في حوارٍ حُرٍّ معَ أصحابِها. وقد وضَعَ الكاتبُ في نهايةِ كتابِه لوحةً زمنيةً بمَعالمِ تاريخِ الفلسفةِ هيَ بمثابةِ قاموسٍ فَلْسفي، مُساعَدةً للقرَّاءِ والباحثينَ للتعرُّفِ على المَعالمِ الكُبْرى في تاريخِ الفِكْرِ الفلسفي.

إنَّ التأمُّلَ والمعرفةَ جديرانِ بأنْ يَسعى إليهِما الإنسان؛ إذ بغَيرِهما يَستحيلُ على المَرءِ أنْ يَحيا الحياةَ التي تَليقُ بإنسانيتِه.» في هذا الكتاب، يدعو أرسطُو الشبابَ الأثينيَّ إلى السَّيرِ في دُروبِ الفِكرِ معَه، فناقَشَ قَضايا الفضيلةِ والخَيرِ والسَّعادةِ وعلاقتَها بقيمةِ المَعرفةِ وغاياتِ الحياةِ الإنسانية. وعلى الرغمِ مِنْ أنَّ كتابَهُ هذا يُعدُّ مِن المُحاوَراتِ المَفقودةِ الَّتي لمْ يَبقَ مِنها سوى شذراتٍ مُتفرِّقة، فإنَّ مُحتواهُ القليلَ يُعطينا فكرةً طيبةً عنْ تفكيرِ أرسطُو في فترةِ شَبابِه. وقدْ أجادَ الدُّكتور «عبد الغفار مكاوي» في تَعريبِ النصِّ والتعليقِ عليهِ وَفقًا لما عوَّدَنا عليهِ مِن أُسلوبٍ بَسيطِ العِبارة، عميقِ التَّحليل.

«هذه مجموعةٌ من التجارِبِ الفلسفيةِ التي عِشتُها خلال العشرينَ سنةً الماضية، أحاولُ اليومَ أن أضمَّها بين دفتَي كتابٍ بعدَ أن كانت مشتَّتة.» يَمورُ الإنسانُ في حياتِه بين تجرِبةٍ وأخرى في سبيلِ الوصولِ إلى ما يبحثُ عنه منذُ بدأَ مِشوارَه العقلي، وكأنه قُدرَ لكلِّ «مُفكرٍ» أن يعيشَ حيرانَ بين تجارِبِه، يَغوصُ في كلِّ واحدةٍ على حِدَة، فيقِفُ هنا، ويُعجَبُ بتلك، ويحتقرُ هذه، ويَتنكرُ لهؤلاء، حتى إذا ما شعرَ أن موقفًا ما يجبُ أن يُؤخَذ، وأن جُلَّ هذه التجارِبِ يجبُ أن تُجمَعَ لتُؤلفَ مَوقفًا من الحياة، أو تَخلقَ دورًا في عالمِه المُحيط؛ أيقنَ ضرورةَ تدوينِها وبثِّها للعالَمِ لِتكونَ تأريخًا لرحلةِ هذا العقلِ عبرَ تجارِبِه. يُقدِّمُ لنا «عبد الغفار مكاوي» هنا تجارِبَ حياتيةً شخصيةً تُحازي الفلسفةَ وتتَّسقُ معها؛ لتُصبحَ تجارِبَ فلسفيةً نقدية، وقراءاتٍ لعدةِ مدارسَ وأعلامٍ فلسفيةٍ كان لها كبيرُ الأثرِ في حياتِه الشخصية.
