About the Author: Albert Einstein (March 14, 1879 – April 18, 1955) was a German, Swiss and American physicist, of Jewish parents. In Physics, he published a research paper on the photoelectric effect, among three hundred other scientific papers of him in the equivalence of matter and energy, quantum mechanics, and others, and his proven conclusions led to the interpretation of many scientific phenomena that classical physics failed to prove. Einstein began with “special relativity” that contradicted Newton’s theory of time and space to solve in particular the problems of the old theory regarding electromagnetic waves in general, and light in particular, and that was between (1902-1909) in Switzerland. As for “general relativity”, he put it forward in 1915, in which he discussed gravity, and it represents the current description of gravity in modern physics. General relativity generalizes both special relativity and Newton’s law of universal gravitation, by providing a unified description of gravity as a geometric property of space and time, or spacetime.

أتمني لهذا الكتاب أن يوفر للقارئ الذي يهتم بدراسة نظرية النسبية فلسفياً وعملياً، سهلة يحقق بها أمله في دراستها دراسة تامة، حتى ولو لم يكن متمكنا من الجهاز الرياضي الذي تتطلبه دراسة الفيزياء النظرية. وعلي الرغم من قلة صفحات هذا الكتاب، فإن قراءته تستلزم عزماً لا يلين، ومثابرة على تعميق الفكر، ومستوى ثقافياً يضارع مستوى القبول في الجامعات. ولقد بذلت غاية الجهد في سبيل توضيح الأفكار الأساسية أحسن إيضاح فوضعتها في أبسط صورة وأسهلها فهماً. أما من حيث التسلسل والارتباط فقد تركتها في مجموعها على سجيتها مثلما خطرت لي أصلاً. ولم أدخر وسعاً في سبيل الوضوح الكامل، فلم أسلم في كثير من المواقف من التكرار، ولم أهتم أي اهتمام ببلاغة الأسلوب وطلاوته، فإني مثل ل.بولتزمان -ذلك العالم الفذ- أعقد أن أمور التأنق يجب تركها “للترزي” والإسكاف. ولست أدعي أني قد باعدت بين القارئ والصعوبات المتصلة بالموضوع، إنما قصدت إلى معالجة الأساس الفيزيائي التجريبي للنظرية بطريقة حانية. عمادها التيسير والرفق، حتى لا أترك القارئ، الذى لا يلم بالفيزياء، يشعر بالتيه أو الضياع، كمن أضلته الأشجار عن الغابة. إني أتمنى أن يهيئ هذا الكتاب للقراء لحظات من التفكير الملهم.
