About the Author: A Lebanese writer, writer and journalist, born in Beirut in 1972. He has a degree in Physics from the American University of Beirut. He is also the editor of the weekly intellectual and literary supplement “Afaaq” in the newspaper “Al-Hayat” published in London. The book “Beirut 39” was one of Rabie Jaber’s writings, and the book was published on the occasion of Beirut, the world capital of the book in 2009. I write that includes the creations of writers and poets under the age of thirty-nine in the world Arabi. In 2010, Jaber was nominated for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for his book “America”, from which a film of the same name was adapted. Rabie Jaber won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for the year 2012 for his novel “The Druze of Belgrade”, which was announced in Abu Dhabi on March 27, 2012.

هذه الرواية تحكي عن قرية لبنانية إبان الاحتلال التركي، وتستحضر الذاكرة الأحداث والأشخاص، فإذا كل حدث قابل للكثير من التأويلات المتناقضة، وإذا كل شخص مختلف حول حقيقته، ولكن ما يبقى موثوقاً به هو الجوع المذل والعاطفة المتأججة والتصدي للقهر. نبذة النيل والفرات: “خرجت عمة البيك من القبو منفوشة الشعر تتعثر بثوبها الفضفاض. رفعت دلو ماء من البئر. أفرغته فوق رأسها ثم صعدت إلى السطح، ولوحت بمنديلها لأخته التي رفعت نظرها عن الغسيل، ونادت خالته. هذا من أمر عمته وأخته. أما خالته فتائهة بين القبو والمصطبة وبين المصطبة والمطبخ، فكانت تفتش عن أمه فلما رأت باب غرفته مفتوحاً، ولجتها على عجل، وأغلقت الباب وراءها. لم تعد خالته تتذكر كم يوم وليلة بقيت هناك تحت السرير خلف الخزانة فوق السرير عند باب المصطبة الواطئ بين الصناديق الخشبية، بين أوراقه المصفرة، بين كتبه السميكة، بين خرائطه المهلهلة. لم تعد خالته تتذكر عما كانت تبحث لكنها وجدت وصيته…”
