قابيل وهابيل ابنا آدم عليه السلام جاء ذكرهما في آيات سورة المائدة دون ذكر اسميهما صراحة ، حيث قرب كل واحد منهما قربانا لله عز وجل فتقبل الله قربان هابيل ولم يتقبل قربان قابيل ، فهدد قابيل أخاه بالقتل ثم قتله مع سبق الإصرار والترصد ، فكان دزاؤه أنه يتحمل كفلا من كل قتيل يقتل من بني آدم إلى يوم القيامة كما جاء في الحديث النبوي الصحيح.
