من علماء الدين الإسلامي في القرن الثامن الهجري. ولد في دمشق ودرس على يد ابن تيمية الدمشقي وتأثر به. قال ابن رجب: “وكان ذا عبادة وتهجد وطول صلاة إلى الغاية القصوى، وتأله ولهج بالذكر وشغف بالمحبة، والإنابة والاستغفار والافتقار إلى الله والانكسار له، والانطراح بين يديه وعلى عتبة عبوديته، لم أشاهد مثله في ذلك ولا رأيت أوسع منه علماً، ولا أعرف بمعاني القرآن والسنة وحقائق الإيمان منه، وليس بمعصوم، ولكن لم أر في معناه مثله. وقد اُمتحن وأوذي مرات، وحبس مع الشيخ تقي الدين في المرة الأخيرة بالقلعة منفردا عنه ولم يخرج إلا بعد موت الشيخ. وكان في مدة حبسه منشغلا بتلاوة القرآن بالتدبر والتفكر ففتح عليه من ذلك خير كثير وحصل له جانب عظيم من الأذواق والمواجيد الصحيحة، وتسلط بسبب ذلك على الكلام في علوم أهل المعارف والدخول في غوامضهم وتصانيفه ممتلئة بذلك”.

فهذا كتاب جامع – إن شاء الله – لما تحدث عنه الشيخ العلاّمة أبو عبدالله شمس الدين محمد بن أبي بكر بن أيوب بن سعد بن حريز بن مكي الزرعي، ثمّ الدمشقي الشهير بابن قيم الجوزية في باب أسماء الله وصفاته . وهذا الكتاب له مذاق خاص وطعم خاص بين الكتب التي تُعنى بأسماء الله وصفاته.إن الدارس لما دوَّنه ابن القيم في هذا الباب يجده يتحدث عن موضوع خالط نفسه، وسرى إلى شغاف قلبه، فإذا تحدث عنه، فلا تجده اكتفى بالنقل عن غيره، أو اكتفى بالرجوع إلى كتب اللغة، ولكنك تجده يفيض علينا علماً قد تناهى نضجه، واستوى على سوقه، فهو يتحدث عن مجاهدة ومعاناة، فيروعك منه تأصيلات ولفتات ونظرات، تجعلك تطرب لما يورده عليك، وتجد كلامه يسري إلى نفسك تياراً كهربائياً، لا تملك له دفعاً.وهو في ذلك كله يعتمد المنهج الذي كان عليه أهل السنّة والجماعة من الصحابة ومن تبعهم بإحسان من بعدهم، ويرصع ذلك كله بالنصوص القرآنية والأحاديث النبوية الصحيحة، وهو في ذلك يصوب ويخطئ، ويبين عوار الذين ضلوا في هذا الباب، ويبين الآثار الخطيرة التي تترتب على أقوالهم، فإن المناهج المخالفة تقوم حجاباً يحول بين أصحابها وخالقهم وبارئهم، بمقدار ما تلبَّسوا به من ضلال.ومما يُحمد عليه العلاّمة ابن القيم رحمه الله أنه قعد قواعد كثيرة، جعلها ضابطة للحق في هذا الباب، ونافية للباطل الذي تلبست به، ومصححة لما ذهب إليه الذين ضلوا في هذا الطريق، وقد رصدت كثيراً منها في آخر هذا الكتاب.وقد التزمت بأن أضع في هذا الكتاب ما دونه ابن القيم رحمه الله تعالى دون ما دوّنه غيره، فإن الكتاب منسوب إلى ابن القيم وحده دون غيره، فلا يجوز شرعاً ولا عقلاً أن يضع في كتابه ما دوّنه غيره في باب الأسماء والصفات، وقد رأيت كتاباً عنون له جامعه بـ «شرح أسماء الله الحسنى» لابن القيم، وقد رأيته قد قصَّر كثيراً في جمع المادة العلمية من جهة، وأضاف إلى الكتاب كثيراً مما نقله عن القرطبي وغيره من المؤلفين في مباحث أسماء الله وصفاته، وهذا خطأ كبير، فقد كان عليه أن لا يضمن الكتاب ما ليس من قول ابن القيم، غفر الله لنا وله.

قال ابن القيم رحمه الله : هذا كتاب سميته جلاء الإفهام في فضل الصلاة والسلام على محمد خير الأنام ، وهو خمسة أبواب وهو كتاب فرد في معناه لم نسبق إلى مثله في كثره فوائده وغزارتها بينا فيه الأحاديث الواردة في الصلاة والسلام عليه صلى الله عليه وسلم وصحيحها من حسنها ومعلولها بينا ما في معلولها من العلل بيانا شافيا ، ثم أسرار هذا الدعاء و شرفه ، و ما اشتمل عليه من الحكم والفوائد ثم مواطن الصلاة عليه صلى الله عليه و سلم و محالها ثم الكلام في مقدار الواجب منها واختلاف أهل العلم فيه وترجيح الراجح وتزييف المزيف ومخبر الكتاب فوق وصفه والحمد لله رب العالمين .
