كتاب المسلمون وعلم الفلك pdf تأليف محمد محمود الصواف، في القرن 9م جمع المأمون أشهر الفلكيين من العرب،وطلب إليهم أن يصنعوا آلات جديدة لرصد الكواكب؛وبفضل هذه الآلات توصلوا الى حقائق جديدة: ـ فكانت السنة في حساب”البتاني” هي 365 يوما و5 ساعات و46 دقيقة و24 ثانية، وهي تنقص عنها في حساب اليوم دقيقتين وثلاثا وعشرين ثانية ـ وتنبأ العرب بكسوف الشمس وخسوف القمر بدقة تثير الإعجاب،وأثبتو كروية الأرض ودورانها ورصدوا موضع الشمس ـ وتوصلوا من هذا الى تقدير محيط لأرض ب41248 كلمتر أي بزيادة قليلة عما هو في تقدير الفلكيين الحديثين.
