One Night @ the Call Center book pdf download By Chetan Bhagat

Press 1 for technical support. Press 2 for broken hearts. Press 3 if your life has totally crashed. . . . Six friends work nights at a call center in India, providing technical support for a major U.S. appliance corporation. Skilled in patience–and accent management–they help American consumers keep their lives running. Yet behind the headsets, everybody’s heart is on the line. Shyam (Sam to his callers) has lost his self-confidence after being dumped by the girl who just so happens to be sitting next to him. Priyanka’s domineering mother has arranged for her daughter’s upscale marriage to an Indian man in Seattle. Esha longs to be a model but discovers it’s a horizontal romp to the runway. Lost, dissatisfied Vroom has high ideals, but compromises them by talking on the phone to idiots each night. Traditional Radhika has just found out that her husband is sleeping with his secretary. And Military Uncle (nobody knows his real name) sits alone working the online chat. They all try to make it through their shifts–and maintain their sanity–under the eagle eye of a boss whose ego rivals his incompetence. But tonight is no ordinary night. Tonight is Thanksgiving in America: Appliances are going haywire, and the phones are ringing off their hooks. Then one call, from one very special caller, changes everything.

The 3 Mistakes of My Life book pdf download By Chetan Bhagat

A word of caution: that you might find minor spoilers. The 3 mistakes of my life gives a nice perspective of life in Gujarat. The characters are three ordinary men who start a business venture and strive to make it big. They are the owners of a sports goods store. They have their own fears and philosophies in life. Omi fears he will end up being the priest of the temple. Ish fears he will never be able to live his dreams of being a cricketer through Ali. Vidya fears she will end up as one of those doctors who didn’t want to be a doctor. Govind appears focused and ambitious though. The events happen amidst the Bhuj earthquake and the Godhra riots. Chetan Bhagat’s stories always involve a lot of drama at the end, and this one was no different. A fight scene at the end lasts for pages. Perhaps it is his style of writing. However this book lacks a background/characters from IITs and IIMs. Overall, it is nothing great, but definitely worth a read.

Everyone in Shaker Heights was talking about it that summer: how Isabelle, the last of the Richardson children, had finally gone around the bend and burned the house down. In Shaker Heights, a placid, progressive suburb of Cleveland, everything is meticulously planned – from the layout of the winding roads, to the colours of the houses, to the successful lives its residents will go on to lead. And no one embodies this spirit more than Elena Richardson, whose guiding principle is playing by the rules. Enter Mia Warren – an enigmatic artist and single mother – who arrives in this idyllic bubble with her teenage daughter Pearl, and rents a house from the Richardsons. Soon Mia and Pearl become more than just tenants: all four Richardson children are drawn to the alluring mother-daughter pair. But Mia carries with her a mysterious past, and a disregard for the rules that threatens to upend this carefully ordered community. When the Richardsons’ friends attempt to adopt a Chinese-American baby, a custody battle erupts that dramatically divides the town and puts Mia and Mrs. Richardson on opposing sides. Suspicious of Mia and her motives, Mrs. Richardson becomes determined to uncover the secrets in Mia’s past. But her obsession will come at unexpected and devastating costs to her own family – and Mia’s. Little Fires Everywhereexplores the weight of long-held secrets and the ferocious pull of motherhood-and the danger of believing that planning and following the rules can avert disaster, or heartbreak.

Lydia is the favourite child of Marilyn and James Lee; a girl who inherited her mother’s bright blue eyes and her father’s jet-black hair. Her parents are determined that Lydia will fulfill the dreams they were unable to pursue – in Marilyn’s case that her daughter become a doctor rather than a homemaker, in James’s case that Lydia be popular at school, a girl with a busy social life and the centre of every party. But Lydia is under pressures that have nothing to do with growing up in 1970s small town Ohio. Her father is an American born of first-generation Chinese immigrants, and his ethnicity, and hers, make them conspicuous in any setting. When Lydia’s body is found in the local lake, James is consumed by guilt and sets out on a reckless path that may destroy his marriage. Marilyn, devastated and vengeful, is determined to make someone accountable, no matter what the cost. Lydia’s older brother, Nathan, is convinced that local bad boy Jack is somehow involved. But it’s the youngest in the family – Hannah – who observes far more than anyone realises and who may be the only one who knows what really happened. Everything I Never Told You is a gripping page-turner, about secrets, love, longing, lies and race.

Author: Alberto Moravia

About the Author: Alberto Moravia, an Italian writer, was born in Rome in 1907 and died on September 26, 1990 in the city of Rome, where he lived most of his life. He is considered one of the most famous Italian writers of the twentieth century. He writes in Italian and speaks both English and French. He was born into a wealthy middle-class family. His Jewish father, Carlo, was a painter and engineer, and his Catholic mother, Teresa Legiana. Alberto did not finish his studies because he contracted tuberculosis, which kept him in bed for five years, which made him love reading. In 1929 Moravian wrote his first book, Gli Indifferenti, and then began his career as a writer in 900 magazine, where he wrote his first short stories. Moravian literary works were distinguished by their brilliance and realism, as they penetrated into the depths of the human soul. Moravia attacked moral corruption in Italy. Most of his works have been translated into several international languages, and many of his novels have been turned into films.

La noia book pdf download By Alberto Moravia
