About the Author: Amin Maalouf is a Lebanese writer and journalist, born in Beirut on February 25, 1949 AD. After graduating, he worked as a journalist, working in the economic supplement of the Beirut newspaper An-Nahar. In 1976, he moved to France, where he worked for the economic magazine Economia, and continued his journalistic work, heading the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Africa Al-Fata” or “Jeanne Afrique”, as well as continuing to work with the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar and its stepson called Al-Nahar Al-Arabi and Al-Dawli. He published his first work, The Crusades as Seen by the Arabs, in 1983 by Lattis Publishing House, which became the publishing house specialized in his works. عن المسرحية: مغنّاة “الحب عن بعد” هي (أوبرا) من تلحين [كايجا/سارياهو]، أما النص فهو لأمين معلوف. أخرجها بيتر سيلار لمهرجان سالزبورغ في آب العام 2000 بإدارة “كنت ناغانو” الموسيقية. وقامت داون أوبشاو بأداء دور كليمانس، إلى جانب دواوين كروفت في دور جوفري روديل ودغمار بيكوفا في دور الحاج. هذا وتدور أحداث الأوبرا في القرن الثاني عشر، بين مقاطعة اكيتين الفرنسية، ومدينة طرابلس، وعرض البحر. وهي بشكل عام تنقسم الى خمسة فصول تروي قصة جوفري روديل، أمير بلاد بلاي، الذي سئم حياة الترف التي يعيشها الشبان في مثل سنه، وبات يتوق لحبٍّ مختلف، بعييد، وهو يعتقد مسبقاً أنه لن يصادفه أبداً. فرفاقه القدامى وخلانه يلومونه على هذا التغيير الذي أصابه بحيث أخذوا يهزءون منه… لقد كانوا يؤكدون باستمرار أن المرأة التي يتغنى بها لا وجود لها. غير أن حاجّاً عائداً من الشرق كان يؤكد له أن تلك المرأة موجودة فعلاً، وهو قد التقاها حقيقة وهي ليست إلا كونتيسة طرابلس. وهكذا يقرر الحاج إجراء لقاء تعارف بينهما، ولكن كلا الحبيبين البعيدين يحس بمرارة اللقاء وبرهبته، وهذا ما يؤثر على صحة الحبيب الشاعر “جوفري” الذي يغدو عليلاً، ويستفحل داؤه مع اقترابه من طرابلس التي يصل إليها وهو يحتضر. وفي حضرة المرأة التي تغنى بها، يستعيد الشاعر وعيه شيئاً فشيئاً، فيلتقي “الحبيبان البعيدان”، ويستعجلان البوح مع اقتراب ساعة المنون، فيتصارحان ويتعانقان، ويتعاهدان على الحب والهيام. وحين يلفظ “جوفري” أنفاسه في أحضان “كليمانس” تتمرد الكونتيسة الحبيبة على المشيئة الإلهية، وتلوم نفسها على المأساة التي حصلت، وتقرر الدخول إلى الدير لتستغرق في الصلاة.

لقد بنيت هذه المسرحية على الاسطورة الألمانية القديمة “فاوست” وهي الاسطورة التي تدور حول عالم من مدينة جوتنبرج بألمانيا يدعى “يوهان فاوست” و كان من المقرر له ان يكرس حياته دارسا للاهوت، فهجره لدراسة السحر و العلوم الغيبية فانتهى به الامر الى ان باع نفسه للشيطان و اختفى عن الأعين الى غير رجعة في ظروف غامضة جزاء متعة دنيوية. هذه الاسطورة كانت معينا لكتاب المسرح ليعبروا من خلالها عن مفاهيم دينية او مشاكل عصرية. في هذه المعالجة لعلي أحمد باكثير نجد انه استعار الهيكل و ضمنه الذي يريد ان يكون او على حد تعبيره: “لقد اخذت نفس الكأس و صببت فيه خمرا جديدا” و هذه الطريقة، اي طريقة استعارة الهيكل دون المضمون، تسهل لنا عملية تناول المسرحية وادراك الهدف منها على أساس أن الاسطورة معروفة لنا و بذلك يتجه الاهتمام كله الى مايبغيه المؤلف مباشرة و دون الوقوف للتعرف على ملامح الشخصيات الرئيسية. فلدينا “فاوست” و خادمه “واجنر” و صديقه “بارسل” و الشيطان الذي يظهر له في صورة صديقه “بارسل” و “مارجريت” حبيبة “فاوست”. لكن ماهو الجديد في هذا الفاوست؟ الجديد هنا، أن “فاوست” يحمل كيان انسان شرقي بمكوناته البيئية و الدينية و ماطرأ عليها من مؤثرات حضارية غربية او بمعنى اخر ان المسرحية تعكس وجهة نظر انسان شرقي ازاء مشكلات العالم التي يثيرها انسان الغرب بحضارته التي تؤثر على العالم كله. و من هذه المشاكل هي مشكلة العلم و الدين و اهمية هذه المشكلة تنبع من أهميتها لنا كشرقيين لأنه مازال هناك من اهل الدين من لا يؤمنون بالعلم و من اهل العلم من لا يؤمنون بالدين. ولكننا نصل في النهاية الى انه لا تعارض اطلاقا بين الايمان بالله و بين العلم.

About the Author: He is Ali bin Ahmed bin Muhammad Bakathir al-Kindi. He was born on the 15th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1328 AH corresponding to December 21, 1910 AD, on the island of Surabaya, Indonesia, to Yemeni parents from the Hadhramaut region. When he reached the age of ten, his father traveled with him to Hadhramaut to raise an Arab and Islamic upbringing there with his father’s brothers. He reached the city of Seiyun in Hadhramaut on Rajab 15, 1338 AH corresponding to April 5, 1920 AD. There he received his education at the Nahda Scientific School and studied Arabic and Sharia sciences at the hands of eminent sheikhs, including his uncle, the linguist and grammarian judge Muhammad bin Muhammad Bakathir. He also received religious sciences at the hands of the jurist Muhammad bin Hadi al-Saqqaf. . Bakathir’s talents appeared early, so he composed poetry when he was thirteen years old, and he taught at the Renaissance School and took over its administration when he was under twenty years old. Bakathir arrived in Egypt in 1352 AH, corresponding to 1934 AD, and joined Fouad I University (currently Cairo University), where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Department of English Language in 1359 AH / 1939 AD, and in 1936 AD, while studying at the university, he translated Shakespeare’s play (Romeo and Juliet) In sent poetry, and two years later – that is, in 1938 AD – he composed his play (Akhenaten and Nefertiti) with free poetry, to be the pioneer of this type of system in Arabic literature. After graduating from university, Bakathir joined the Institute of Education for Teachers and obtained a diploma in 1940, and worked as an English language teacher for fourteen years. Bakathir traveled to France in 1954 on a free scholarship. After the end of the study, he preferred to reside in Egypt, where he loved the Egyptian society and interacted with it, so he married a conservative Egyptian family, and his relationship with men of thought and literature became close, such as Al-Akkad, Tawfiq Al-Hakim, Al-Mazini, Muhib Al-Din Al-Khatib, Naguib Mahfouz, Saleh Jawdat and others. Bakathir said in an interview with Radio Aden in 1968 that he is classified as the second Arab playwright after Tawfiq al-Hakim.
