About the Author: He is a well-known lawyer and historian. He is considered one of the major Egyptian national leaders in the early twentieth century. He assumed the presidency of the National Party after the death of the leader, Mustafa Kamel, and spent his fortune in the national struggle and the struggle against the occupation. Muhammad Farid was born in 1868 to a family of Turkish origins. He was educated at Al-Alsun and Law Schools. Upon graduating, he worked in the Appeals Prosecution Office, then became a professional lawyer. He had intellectual and cultural tendencies, embodied in his writing of many books such as the book “From Egypt to Egypt”, the book “A Journey to the Lands of Andalusia, Marrakesh and Algeria”, the book “The History of the Romans” and other books, in addition to that, he created Farid with each of Ahmed Hafez Awad And Mahmoud Abi Nasr is a scientific journal called “The Encyclopedia.” Despite this enlightening intellectual struggle, the man became more widely known for his kinetic struggle, as he dedicated his life to the national struggle against the British occupation. He traveled with Mustafa Kamel Pasha to many European countries defending the homeland’s issues with him, and exposing the practices of the occupation in Egypt. Muhammad Farid worked to spread education among the members of the nation. He established night schools in popular neighborhoods to educate the poor for free. He also laid the foundations of union life in Egypt, where he established the first labor union in 1909 AD. Egypt has known through his hands the huge popular demonstrations, where he was able to mobilize to them, and mobilize the people towards one demand, as happened when the palace and the government demanded the establishment of a constitution for Egypt. After the death of Mustafa Kamel, Muhammad Farid was elected in 1908 as head of the National Party in dire circumstances, as the occupation and the palace began to crack down on national movements and restrict the freedom of the press. One of the consequences of this was that Farid was referred to the Criminal Court on a false accusation in which he was sentenced to six months, after which he was exiled in 1912 AD. However, his struggle for the homeland did not stop with his exile, as he continued to defend the homeland’s issues abroad, as happened in the two peace conferences. Geneva in 1912 and The Hague in 1913. تاريخ الدولة العباسية المجلد الأول هي إمبراطورية إسلامية أسسها عثمان الأول بن أرطغرل، واستمرت قائمة لما يقرب من 600 سنة، وبالتحديد منذ حوالي 27 يوليو سنة 1299م حتى 29 أكتوبر سنة 1923م. بلغت الدولة العثمانية ذروة مجدها وقوتها خلال القرنين السادس عشر والسابع عشر، فامتدت أراضيها لتشمل أنحاء واسعة من قارات العالم القديم الثلاثة: أوروبا وآسيا وأفريقيا، حيث خضعت لها كامل آسيا الصغرى وأجزاء كبيرة من جنوب شرق أوروبا، هي إمبراطورية إسلامية أسسهاعثمان الأول بن أرطغرل، واستمرت قائمة لما يقرب من 600 سنة، وبالتحديد منذ حوالي 27 يوليو سنة 1299م حتى 29 أكتوبر سنة 1923م. بلغت الدولة العثمانية ذروة مجدها وقوتها خلال القرنين السادس عشر والسابع عشر، فامتدت أراضيها لتشمل أنحاء واسعة من قارات العالم القديم الثلاثة: أوروبا وآسيا وأفريقيا، حيث خضعت لها كامل آسيا الصغرى وأجزاء كبيرة من جنوب شرق أوروبا، وغربي آسيا، وشمالي أفريقيا. وصل عدد الولايات العثمانية إلى 29 ولاية، وكان للدولة سيادة اسمية على عدد من الدول والإمارات المجاورة في أوروبا، التي أضحى بعضها يُشكل جزءًا فعليًا من الدولة مع مرور الزمن، بينما حصل بعضها الآخر على نوع من الاستقلال الذاتي. كان للدولة العثمانية سيادة على بضعة دول بعيدة كذلك الأمر، إما بحكم كونها دولاً إسلامية تتبع شرعًا سلطان آل عثمان كونه يحمل لقب “أمير المؤمنين” و”خليفة المسلمين”، كما في حالة سلطنة آتشيه السومطرية التي أعلنت ولاءها للسلطان في سنة 1565م؛ أو عن طريق استحواذها عليها لفترة مؤقتة، كما في حالة جزيرة “أنزاروت” في المحيط الأطلسي، والتي فتحها العثمانيون سنة 1585م.] أضحت الدولة العثمانية في عهد السلطان سليمان الأول “القانوني” (حكم منذ عام 1520م حتى عام 1566م)، قوّة عظمى من الناحيتين السياسية والعسكرية، وأصبحت عاصمتها القسطنطينية تلعب دور صلة الوصل بين العالمين الأوروبي المسيحي والشرقي الإسلامي، وبعد انتهاء عهد السلطان سالف الذكر، الذي يُعتبر عصر الدولة العثمانية الذهبي، أصيبت الدولة بالضعف والتفسخ وأخذت تفقد ممتلكاتها شيئًا فشيئًا، على الرغم من أنها عرفت فترات من الانتعاش والإصلاح إلا أنها لم تكن كافية لإعادتها إلى وضعها السابق. انتهت الدولة العثمانية بصفتها السياسية بتاريخ 1 نوفمبر سنة 1922م، وأزيلت بوصفها دولة قائمة بحكم القانون في 24 يوليو سنة 1923م، بعد توقيعها على معاهدة لوزان، وزالت نهائيًا في 29 أكتوبر من نفس السنة عند قيام الجمهورية التركية، التي تعتبر حاليًا الوريث الشرعي للدولة العثمانية. عُرفت الدولة العثمانية بأسماء مختلفة في اللغة العربية، لعلّ أبرزها هو “الدولة العليّة” وهو اختصار لاسمها الرسمي “الدولة العليّة العثمانية”، كذلك كان يُطلق عليها محليًا في العديد من الدول العربية، وخصوصًا بلاد الشام ومصر، “الدولة العثمليّة”، اشتقاقًا من كلمة “عثملى – Osmanlı” التركية، التي تعني “عثماني”. ومن الأسماء الأخرى التي أضيفت للأسماء العربية نقلاً من تلك الأوروبية: “الإمبراطورية العثمانية” (بالتركية: Osmanlı İmparatorluğu)، كذلك يُطلق البعض عليها تسمية “السلطنة العثمانية”، و”دولة آل عثمان”.

About the Author: Halil Ibrahim Inalcık (Turkish: Halil İnalcık) (May 26, 1916 – July 25, 2016) was a Turkish historian. He received a doctorate in history from the Faculty of Arts, Ankara University in 1940 AD. He worked as a professor of Ottoman history at Bilkent University in Ankara. He received the King Faisal International Prize – Department of Islamic Studies in the year 1432 AH / 2011 AD, for his book “The Economic and Social History of the Ottoman State”, Part One.
