About the Author: Abdullah Hussein: Lawyer, journalist, and historian, author of many historical, literary, political and social publications. Abdullah Hussein was born in the Cairo Governorate to a village family from Bani Udayyat, the center of Manfalout. When he was young, he joined Al-Baroudi’s office to teach the Qur’an, then continued his regular education at Victoria School, the schools of the Islamic Charitable Association and Sheikh Saleh Abi Hadid, and when the boy moved to the preparatory stage, he was always at the top of the list. He graduated from the Royal School of Law (Faculty of Law at Fouad I University). He received his doctorate from the French School of Law “Department of Political and Economic Sciences”. He also obtained a diploma from the Institute of Italian Studies and a diploma from the German Institute. Abdullah Hussein is fluent in several languages: French, English, Italian, and German. Abdullah Hussein was one of the members of the Higher Consultative Committee for Cooperation that formulated the Law of Cooperation in 1927 AD, and a member of the Egyptian Mission to Sudan. Abdullah Hussein also worked as an editor at Al-Ahram newspaper, and was a professor in the Journalism Department at the American University until 1942. His travels and his journalistic work allowed him to meet many great men and leaders in the East and the West, such as: the national leader Saad Zagloul, Pope Lebran, Lloyd George, MacDonald, Chamberlain, Eden, Mussolini, Brian, and Bloom. In his youth, he also witnessed many prominent figures of thought, such as: Muhammad Abdo, Ali Youssef, Qassem Amin, Mustafa Kamel, Muhammad Farid, and Abdul Aziz Gawish. On December 31, 1943 AD, Abdullah Hussain died after a drunken car drove into him and led to the amputation of his leg. He continued to bleed all night until his soul overflowed.

About the Author: Abdul Rahman Al Munif was born in Amman – Jordan in 1933 to a Saudi father and an Iraqi mother. He studied in Jordan until he obtained his secondary certificate, then moved to Baghdad and joined the Faculty of Law in 1952, then became involved in political activity there. He joined the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party until he was expelled from Iraq with a large number of Arab students after signing the Baghdad Pact in 1955 to move Then to Cairo to complete his studies there. In 1958 he moved to Belgrade to complete his studies and obtained a doctorate in oil economics, then moved to Damascus in 1962 to work there in the Syrian Oil Company, then moved to Beirut in 1973 to work there in Al-Balagh magazine, then returned to Iraq again in 1975 to work in the Oil and Development magazine . He left Iraq in 1981 heading to France, then returned to Damascus in 1986 and resides there, where he devoted his life to writing novels. Munif married a Syrian woman and had children with her. He lived in Damascus until he died in 2004, and remained until his last days in opposition to global imperialism, as he always objected to the invasion. The American delegation to Iraq in 2003, even though he was a violent opponent of the regime of the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

After returning to King Saud University to obtain a Master of Arts, she began teaching at the university while working in journalism at the same time, where she began her journalistic career by writing a weekly column in Al-Yamamah magazine and then moved on to writing a daily column in Al-Riyadh newspaper. In 2005, Badria obtained a doctorate in sociology from the Lebanese University in Beirut, and at that time she was also writing for the newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat. Ibrahim bin Najm bin Elias bin Hanna Al-Aswad was born in 1885 AD in Broumana, Lebanon, to a Greek Orthodox family. Al-Aswad was appointed director of the Broumana School, then a clerk in the investigation department, and he advanced in positions until he was a public prosecutor at the Court of Appeal and a member of the board of directors. He was appointed as the “maqam maqam” for the Koura district in 1913 AD. يحوي هذا الكتاب بين طياته تأريخًا لمملكتين من أعظم وأقدم الممالك في العالم وأشهرها تاريخيًّا؛ حيث تأسستا منذ أكثر من أربعة آلاف عامٍ على ضفاف نهري دجلة والفرات ﺑ «العراق»؛ إنهما «بابل» و«آشور». وقد استغرق كثير من المؤرخين في البحث عن كافة جوانبهما وأهم معالمهما الحضارية، إلا أن البعض منهم يعتقدون خطأً أن مملكة «بابل» هي ذاتها مملكة «آشور»، وهذا ما يفنِّده «جميل نخلة المدور» في هذه الدراسة الموجزة، والتي تنقسم إلى قسمين؛ ففي القسم الأول منها، يبحث المؤلف في تأسيسهما وأصل تسميتهما، كما يتناول أهم المعالم الجغرافية والأثرية بهاتين المملكتين، أما في القسم الثاني، فيُحدِّثنا عن صفحات من تاريخهما وأشهر ملوكهما وحكامهما وما لهم من وقائع وآثار.

About the Author: Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Sabouni: a Syrian writer and thinker, considered one of the pioneers of the modern renaissance, and a scholar of reform and renewal, and he has made a great contribution to journalism and authorship in the fields of literature, language and history. Sheikh Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Qawuqji al-Hamwi, known as al-Sabouni, was born in the Syrian city of Hama in the year 1875 AD, into a family that was known in social circles for its gentleness and interest in science, and the artistic talent that appeared among many of its members, whether in the craft field such as carpentry and painting, or in artistic creativity such as poetry and painting. Al-Sabouni received his education in the teachings of Hama, and he was committed to his city throughout his life and did not leave it except on his trips to seek knowledge at the hands of the people of knowledge and literature in the capital, Damascus. At first, he worked as a shoemaker, making and repairing shoes, but he left his profession and joined the scientists and worked as a teacher. His star rose. He contacted the press and issued the newspaper “Lisan al-Sharq” in 1909 AD, but it did not last long as the authorities closed it after about two years of its launch. For its opposition to the Ottoman rule of the Levant. Sheikh al-Sabouni was greatly influenced by the reformers of his time, such as Abd al-Rahman al-Kawakibi, and by the religious reform movement in Egypt. He made many friendships with activists in the Arab national struggle. Which was reflected in his wide culture on his public curricula and his public and secret political social activities, and on his innovative tendency that emerged in his articles that he published in his newspaper and in other Levantine newspapers, and in his recruitment of young pens who participated with him, as well as in his printed and manuscript writings. Al-Sabouni’s books have been numerous, including: “The History of the Present Age and the Biography of His Men,” “The Past and Present of the East,” “The History of Hama,” “Facilitating Logic,” “The Kind Purposes in Abu Hanifa’s Jurisprudence,” and “The Best Reasons in the Systems of The Rules of Expression” and “Certainty in the Reality of the Conduct of the Messengers”. He also has social poetry for the most part, some of which are collected in a short collection referred to by some studies, but it is now missing. The death of Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Sabouni was during the First World War in 1916 AD, and he was buried in the Ayyubid cemetery in Hama.
