Khairy Shalaby is an Egyptian writer and novelist with seventy books, one of his most prominent works is the Al-Watad series, based on a story of the same name, starring the late Egyptian actress Hoda Sultan in the main role of “Fatima Talaba”. Recipient of the Best Arabic Book Award from the Cairo Book Fair for the novel “Cisterns of Pearls” 2002. Recipient of the State Appreciation Award in Literature 2005. Nominated by the Canadian Embassy for the Nobel Prize in Literature. He is currently the editor-in-chief of the Poetry Magazine (Ministry of Information). Editor-in-chief of the series: Library of Popular Studies (Ministry of Culture).
