About the Author: An Egyptian short story writer and novelist, born in Luxor, Egypt, in 1967. He works as an editor for the New Culture magazine. He won the first prize in a press competition (Akhbar Literature) for the short story, at the level of the Arab world, for the story “The Four Wheels of the Kart Cart”. He has published three short story collections and two novels: “The Idol” (1999) and “An Exile of the Lord” (2013). He was nominated for the Booker Prize, and he also published a novel, “A Severe Deviation.”

كان “الميكروباص” الذى يتجاوزونه على يمينه، وفيه رجل يجلس “هناك” فى نفس موقعه “هنا”، شبهه تماماً، ينظر إليه بإندهاش. كان الأمر أضخم من جبل، أوسع من سماء، أعمق من محيط، أكبر كثيراً من أن يتحمله عقله فتصرف بعته، حيث ابتسم فى وجه شبيهه، ولوح له ببلاهة. هذه رواية تراوغ قراءها، إذ تستدرجهم إلى عالم يعج بالمتناقضات والانحرافات الحادة، عبر رحلة فى سيارة “ميكروباص”. هى تجسيد للدنيا بغرورها وتنوعها، وتشخيص للحياة بأفراحها وأتراحها، ليصل راكبوها إلى نهاية الرحلة، حيث الموت المتسرب إلى شرايين الحياة، أو الحياة التى تسير مذهولة فى ركاب الموت، وتقف حائرة أمام فتنة اقتناص الخلود.
