About the Author: Amir Taj Al-Sir is a Sudanese physician and novelist, closely related to the famous Sudanese writer, Al-Tayeb Salih. His works have received great attention in literary and critical circles, and have achieved international fame, after most of them have been translated into many living languages, including English, French and Italian. His novel “The Caterpillar” was shortlisted for the Arab Booker Prize 2011. The novel “French Perfume” was recently translated into French, and his novel “Flowers Eaten by Fire” was shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction 2018.
