About the Author: Edwar al-Kharrat (March 16, 1926 – December 1, 2015) is an Egyptian writer, born in Alexandria to a Coptic family of origin from Upper Egypt. Edward Al-Kharrat has published more than 50 books of fiction, poetry or criticism. Among his books are: The Walls of High Pride Hours Rama and the Dragon, The Other Time, Ribs of the Desert. He also translated fourteen books into Arabic, and a number of plays and studies. He was awarded the State Incentive Award and the Medal of Science and Arts of the first class in 1973.
