About the Author: Jordanian novelist and writer, born in Amman in 1948, obtained a BA in Philosophy and Psychology from Beirut Arab University. He worked in cultural journalism during the years 1977-1979, and participated in editing the cultural magazine Al-Mahd, and the poet Taher Riyad participated in the management of Manarat Publishing House during the years 1980 -1991, and then founded Azmina House for Publishing and Distribution in 1992, where he works as its director. He is one of the founders of the Jordanian Publishers Association, and he is a member of the aforementioned union, the Union of Arab Writers and Writers, and the Jordanian Writers Association, of which he served as a member of its administrative board for several sessions. His novel Qamat al-Zabad won the State Encouragement Award for the year 1990, and he won the State Appreciation Award in the field of short story in 1997. He also won the Mahmoud Seif Al-Din Iranian Short Story Award from the Jordanian Writers Association, and the Association had awarded him the award for best short story collection for the year 1982 for his one collection Twenty bullets for the Prophet. ما أريد أن أتوصل إليه هو القبض على هذه المحاولة الدائبة في قصص إلياس فركوح لتذويب فعل الانفصال عن الأشياء والعالم ، في السرد ، وتحويله إلى نقيضه : أي إلى فعل إتصال والتحام بالموجودات والعالم عبر تذويب كل ما يمكن أن يكون فاصلاً ، سواء أكان فاصلاً زمانياً أم فاصلاً مكانياً . فاصلاً سلطوياً ( يأتي من الخارج ) أم فاصلاً داخلياً ( تُمليه المعتقدات والأفكار والمواضعات التي تؤمن بها الشخصية . ) وتمثّل قصة ” من يحرث البحر ” سواءٌ في عنوانها الذي يتخذ التساؤلَ صيغةً له أو في إلحاحها ، في الوصف وحوارات الشخصية الداخلية ، على تقليب إمكانية الفعل وعدمه . هذا الهاجس الملازم والممثل لقصص فركوح أصدق تمثيل . ولعل تصدره للمجموعة ووضع عنوانها عنواناً للمجموعة أن يكون ذا دلالة محورية في التعبير عن قصد العمل وغايته المركزية إذا آمنا أن للعمل الأدبي غايةً وهدفاً متصلين بالحياة البشرية والكون الاجتماعي الذي يكتب الكاتب منه قاصداً التعبير عنه أو الوصول إليه او التواصل معه ، كما هو الأمر في قصص إلياس فركوح.
