About the Author: Aisha Al Basri is a Moroccan poet, born in 1960. She obtained her BA in Arabic literature from Mohammed V University in Rabat in 1981. Member of the House of Poetry and the Writers Union in Morocco. Vice-President of the International Society of Literary Criticism in France, she participated in several cultural festivals. Publishes articles in poetry and composition in Moroccan and Arab platforms. Her poetry has been translated into French, Spanish, Catalan, English, Turkish, Swedish, and other languages. The poet has a critical study entitled: Irony in Mahmoud Darwish’s Poetry.

لم يدرك زوجي، وهو يحاول إدماجي في حياته في المغرب، أن غربتي ليست مكانا، وأنني أحمل في داخلي غربة فظيعة ومزمنة. فقد تغربت في الصين وأنا صبية، يوم استعمل حبيبي جسدي طُعما لعدوه في الحرب. تغربت عندما رحل تاجر السلاح الفرنسي وتركني ضائعة في الفيتنام. تغربت في سايغون، صباح اختفاء مصور الحرب الإسباني دون وداع… تغربت في أسرة جنود ذاهبين إلى ساحات المعارك برغبة القتل، عائدين برائحة الدم والبارود… تغربت في حروب لم تكن حروبي، في لغات ليست لي، فيتنامية، فرنسية، عربية. هناك غربة خاصة بالنساء، لا يعرفها الرجال. غربة المرأة حين يستباح جسدها، وحين يتخلى عنها نفس الجسد ويفقد سلطته على الحياة. حينها لا تكفي كل بلدان العالم لتكون وطنا لها. فتعيش منفية في كل الأوطان . بل كل مرايا الكون لن تقنعها بجمال يستحق الحياة”.
