He also wrote about the currents of ancient and modern Islamic thought and about heritage figures such as Ghaylan Al-Dimashqi, and Al-Hasan Al-Basri. Among his last writings on modern thought: Religious Discourse between Islamic Renewal and American Change, and the West and Islam Where is the error… and where is the truth? And articles of religious and non-religious extremism, Islamic law and Western secularism, the book Our Future between Islamic Renewal and Western Modernity, the crisis of modern Islamic thought, intellectual creativity and cultural privacy, and many others. He has contributed to many specialized intellectual periodicals, participated in many seminars and scientific conferences, and was a member of a number of intellectual and research institutions, including the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the Higher Institute of Islamic Thought. The writings and research of Dr. Emara, which enriched the Arab library, which amounted to (200) authors, were characterized by innovative and revival points of view, and to contribute to intellectual problems, and to try to present a civilized renaissance project for the Arab and Islamic nation in the stage in which it lives. He received many awards, honors, certificates of appreciation and shields, including the Friends of the Book Association award in Lebanon in 1972, the State Encouragement Award in Egypt in 1976, and the Order of the Islamic Intellectual Trend, the Founding Leader in 1998.

منذ أن عرفت الطباعة طريقها إلى مصر لم يحدث أن أخرجت المطبعة كتاباً أثار من الضجة واللفظ والمعارك والصراعات مثلما أثار كتاب “الإسلام وأصول الحكم” لمؤلفه علي عبد الرازق. على أن المرجع في كل ذلك لم يكن إلى مجرد القضية الفكرية التي دار من حولها البحث، والجرأة التي تناول بها مؤلفه الموضوع، وإنما كان مرد الكثير من النقع الذي أثير والصخب الذي استند إلى مجيء هذا الكتاب سهماً نافذاً، وجّهه المؤلف الشيخ علي عبد الرزاق إلى الرجل الجالس على عرش مصر يومئذ (سنة 1925م) الملك أحمد فؤاد، ومن ثم نشوء مجموعة من الظروف والملابسات السياسية والاجتماعية التي تصاعدت بالآثار التي ترتبت على صدوره إلى الحد الذي جعل منها معركة لم يسبق أن دار مثلها حول كتاب من الكتب في مصر منذ أن عرفت عصرها الحديث. وفي أغلب الدراسات التي كتبت حول هذا الكتاب، في ظل قيام حكم أسرة محمد علي بمصر، أي فيما قبل يوليو 1952م، لم يستطع الكثيرون التخلص من عيوب النظرة الوحيدة الجانب في الدراسة والتقييم للكتاب، فهم أما معه دون تحفظ، وأما ضده دونما روية أو تعقل أو حساب. حتى بعض الدراسات الجادة التي تناولته بالنقد الموضوعي الذي بلغ حد التفنيد لكثير من آرائه، لم تسلم من شائبة مجيئها في موكب الدفاع عن النظام الملكي في مصر و”الذات المصونة” الجالسة على العرش المصري في ذلك الحين. ومن ثم كانت الحاجة ماسة أشد ما تكون إلى تقديم نص هذا الكتاب إلى القارئ المعاصر، كما يرى فيه نموذجاً لتفكير مفكر مسلم أثار معركة من أشهر المعارك في تاريخ الإسلام الفكري والسياسي الحديث. وأيضاً إلى التقديم لهذا الكتاب بدراسة متأملة. فكانت هذه الدراسة للدكتور محمد عمارة والتي هي أقرب ما تكون إلى التقييم الموضوعي الجاد لما في الكتاب من إيجابيات، والتحديد الدقيق لمكانة في موكب الفكر المصري والعربي والإسلامي الحديث، ومنزلته ومنزلة صاحبه من حركة الإصلاح والتجديد لفكر الأمة العربية والشعوب الإسلامية، وأيضاً النقد الهادئ والموضوعي لما في كتاب “الإسلام وأصول الحكم” من هنات وأخطاء وسلبيات.
