About the Author: An Iraqi writer, born in Baghdad in 1970. He belongs to the Omari family in Mosul, whose lineage goes back to the Caliph Omar Ibn Al-Khattab. His father is a well-known Iraqi historian and judge, Khairy Al-Omari. A dentist graduated from the University of Baghdad in 1993, but he was known as an Islamic writer through books that combined a modern approach in presenting topics and a distinguished literary style. He was chosen in 2010 to be the intellectual figure honored by Dar Al-Fikr in its annual tradition, in which prominent figures such as Abdul Wahab Al-Masiri, Al-Bouti and Al-Zuhaili were honored. Thus, Al-Omari is the youngest of these honored people, as he was chosen before he reached the age of forty. Al-Omari’s works are a quantitative and qualitative addition to the thought of the Renaissance, of which Malik Bennabi is considered one of the most important pioneers. He was able to carry the discourse of the Renaissance to a broader category than the one directed by Malik Bennabi because of its distinctive language and clear statement, in addition to his reliance on the Qur’anic rooting of the Renaissance made his ideas more acceptable.

من الرواية: “أن تكون شامخا يعني أن يكون رأسك مرفوعا حتى عندما تنحني للأرض لتزيل عنها أذى الآخرين و إهمالهم”.سكت كما لو كان يدعني أفكر بما يقول ثمّ تابع”بالضّبط كما يكون النّسر شامخا دوما حتى و هو يهبط ليلتقط طعاما لصغاره”. “البعض يكذب لأنه ينقل ما نقله الآخرون له.و إن كان ما نقله الآخرون كذبا،أو غير حقيقة.البعض يصدّق الكذبة و يقولها لآخرين،و البعض يتعمّد الكذب،يستغله،يستثمره بأقصى ما يستطيع..”.. “بعض الأشياء يا سيدتي لا تقاس هكذا..بعض الأشياء لا يمكن استعمال المكاييل فيها..القمح و الشعير و التين و التفاح يمكن أن توزن، و االأشجار و البيوت يمكن أن تحسب بالأطوال و الأشبار..لكن الإنسان يا سيدتي لا يمكن أن يقاس هكذا..إنه أهم من أن يقاس بالمكاييل..الإنسان لديه روح لا تملكها الأشياء..و شبر أقل أو شبر أكثر لن يعني أنّ هذا الإنسان أسوء أو أفضل..”. سألتهم:”ما هي الوظيفة التي خلقنا من أجلها؟”. تبادلوا جميعا النظرات،كأنهم يستغربون سؤالي.. هز أحدهم كتفيه”ماذا تعني؟..إصلاح العالم طبعا”.
